Otra vez...

Well, here I am again in the beloved España! I am back in Madrid for 2 weeks and enjoying every second so far! I am staying with my host family from 3 years ago and it is so wonderful to be back in their loving home and seeing that really, nothing has changed! Students have come and gone and there are 2 here right now (well, their actually on a trip with the summer program) but the family remains full of fun and laughter! After a 3 hour night in London on the way here and 6 annoying British girls in front of my on the flight here (really, you would have thought they were American except for their accents for as loud and racous as they were! I think the whole plane could hear their conversation and laughter!) I arrived, caught a taxi and got to the piso just in time for lunch! I ate and then went out to buy a new SIM card for my phone, which I bought only to realized that I had forgotten to get my phone unlocked so the card won't work... I will try to get that done on Monday because my host sister said that she thinks they can do it at a place called "Phone House" (yes, even in Spain the store names are in English!) Anyway, I returned from said outing and my host brother and sister were home so we had a little reunion...we talked about my job and they were in disbelief of a few things: first, that I teacher 7 classes a day, and to middle schoolers!; second, that in each of those 7 classes there are about 30 students to manage; and third, that I only have 25 minutes for lunch! Here, lunch can be a 2 hour ordeal so it's unthinkable that I have less than a half hour to eat! So, after a chat, we retired to the living room where I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up 2 hours later with a blanket over me! When I woke up, we ate some dinner (10pm) and I worked on some crosswords while my host sister planned a trip to France and my host mom mended some clothes. I finally went to bed at midnight and slept for 13 hours! I couldn't believe it (normally I wake up after 9 hours, alarm or no!) So, I showered, got ready and went out and purchased a few things I had forgotten I needed! Then I came back and the whole family is coming over for lunch! Till later!
